GRL PWR Gamers 24 Hour Game-athon

24 Hour Gaming Event · 12 November 2016
We are a team of 10 gamers who will be putting their thumbs, bums and eyes to the test by undertaking a '24 Hour Gaming Marathon' to help raise money and awareness for Young Ovarian Cancer.
Our good friends Charlotte and Carly have set up GRL PWR, an awesome girl gang helping to raise money and awareness for Young Ovarian Cancer and support and celebrate strong woman all over the world. GRL PWR was set up after Charlotte was recently diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer at the age of 25. It quickly became very apparent to the girls that there isn't enough awareness about this disease and they decided that this must change! They have designed a collection of fashionable t-shirts with profits from sales being donated to 'Target Ovarian Cancer', a charity that improves early diagnosis and helps fund life saving research.
Please visit their page and show your support by purchasing and rocking a GRL PWR t-shirt with pride. The girls are taking the world by storm and the support has already been incredible and we want this to continue.
You can buy your t-shirts at www.grlpwr.bigcartel.com
Why computer games you may ask? Well, gaming can be a massive help during chemotherapy especially for young adults. Not only can it help endure the intense chemotherapy by providing a welcome distraction but can help them keep connected with their friends.
Our 24 hour Gameathon will consist of both retro favourites and modern classics, including a '24 Le Mans' race done in shifts. Every one of us will be doing 24 hours individually. So your kind donations will not only be our encouragement to make it through, but also a great show of support for a charity that does a wonderful job.
