Story
Dear all,
As some of you doubtless already know, my mother sadly passed away in late January to secondary breast cancer following a long, tough, but courageous fight until the end. I have been involved for a little while in fundraising for the Lincolnshire St Barnabas Hospice who provided fantastic palliative care over the past few months, and especially towards the last few weeks. I have the utmost praise and recognition of their totally altruistic care in providing the means for a comfortable and dignified passing away in our own home.
As a result, my efforts in fundraising for this incredible cause have been massively spurred on, which is why I've managed to persuade Mark Smith (from EY Nottingham) to join me in attempting the 3 Peaks Challenge on the 6th-7th June 2014! Mark and I will attempt to climb the highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) within a 24 hour window, with the help of Jonny Pepper, driver, to race between locations (within the barriers of the law, of course)!
To this end, we'd be hugely grateful for any support you could extend to us, whether it be financial, technical or moral! JustGiving sends your donation straight to the St Barnabas Hospice Trust (Lincolnshire) and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more. In addition to this, the firm we work for, EY will match whatever amount we raise to a limit of £1,000, which massively increases all your donations for our fundraising pot!
We're massively enthusiastic about this, so please do help if you can!
Please also join us on Facebook for updates and photos!
