We inspire people to get close to nature to create a landscape rich in wildlife

Story

Bridewell Common is an amazing fragment of the Gwent Levels. Already it's home for a lot of threatened wildlife, and has the potential for even more. Otters, and Kingfishers hunt amongst ancient pollards, standing guard over the waters lapping at the edge of flower rich meadows. Gwent Wildlife Trust is working to purchase and protect this area from the threats that could so easily destroy it. We will continue working with local farmers, schools and visitors across the Gwent Levels, bringing great benefits for wildlife and people. This precious and sometimes overlooked part of Gwent is an amazing place, we're working to ensure this continues into the future.

Using a coracle built by Gwent Wildlife Trust Volunteer Dai Lucas from willow harvested at the adjacent Magor Marsh nature reserve, I'll attempt to paddle the coracle down the river Wye from Monmouth.
