No young person should have their future put on hold because they can’t afford the basics that most people take for granted. That’s why we provide small financial grants for disadvantaged 16 to 25 year olds from Birmingham to support them into work, training or education.

Story

I'm thrilled to be part of the MKF team running the Birmingham Half Marathon again this year alongside Jess and Chris. We're running in memory of the wonderful human being Matt Kendall and to raise money for the charity set up in his name.

The Matt Kendall Foundation helps disadvantaged young people from Birmingham and supports them into work, training or further education.  The charity was set-up towards the end of Matt's life and he threw himself into it with typical passion and drive despite the bigger battle that he was facing...

Matt knew that the MKF was going to be part of his legacy and its this fact that helps to drag me out of my bed to put my trainers on at 6.30am for training runs. Personally I'd never run more than a mile or two before last years half and I'm doing it again this year which is ridiculous as I'm sure I said 'never again'... I wish we could tell him what we're doing to help his brilliant charity and he'd be thrilled with every pound we raise so thank you. Rich, Jess and Chris x
