Richard's Lakes In A Day

In July 2020 I ran 'coast to coast', including the length of Hadrian's Wall, to raise money for Make 2nds Count, a charity that my wife's best friend Laura had become closely involved with following her diagnosis with secondary breast cancer.
Secondary breast cancer is breast cancer which has spread from the breast to other parts of the body and although it can be treated there is no cure. Unlike those living with primary breast cancer, there is no treatment, there is no remission. It's estimated that approximately 35,000 people are currently living with this condition in the UK, yet only 7% of the national funding for cancer goes towards this incurable disease. Make 2nds Count aims to address this imbalance.
Sadly Laura lost her brave battle with breast cancer in September 2020, aged just 34, which was devastating for her family and close friends. My wife and her friends have undertaken a couple of challenges since then to raise money so now it is my turn again!
In October I will be running the Lakes In A Day challenge, a 50 mile single day ultra marathon race across the mountainous Lake District, which involves a total ascent of approximately 13,000 ft. This will be by far the toughest challenge that I have ever done and I am hoping that any donations that you are able to provide will make the pain worthwhile!
Please give generously!
