Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

Thanks for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation's research and I'd be so grateful for your support.

5 Years ago out of the blue at the age of 42 my wife Adele had a heart attack. After being admitted to hospital she suffered another and was then admitted to Papworth Hospital for 3 stents to be fitted.

During the rehabilitation Adele received lots of support from The British Heart Foundation as she struggled to come to terms why it had happened to her because she led a healthy lifestyle and was too young to have had a heart attack.

I have never done anything remotely like this before and until 15 months ago did no exercise at all but realised that I needed to do something about my lifestyle as I was seriously overweight. I had heard of The Parish Walk over in the Isle of Man a few years ago so I decided to enter it. Now 4 stone lighter I think I can complete the 85 miles within the 24 hour limit

The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Thanks!
