Story

I set myself a challenge to canoe 5 of the largest lakes in the Lake District in 5 days, whilst hoping to raise £5,000 for the Addie Brady Foundation @ the Brain Tumour Charity in memory of Addie Brady. Addie sadly and tragically lost her young life to a brutal brain tumour when she was just 16 years old.

Addie's family were left devastated by the loss of their youngest daughter. Inspired by their daughters bravery they set up the Addie Brady Foundation to support and help other families.  Addie's courage and strength during her illness has inspired me to take on this challenge. On the 5th of September, over 5 days I will canoe across 5 lakes, Lake Windemere, Lake Ulleswater, Lake Wastwater, Lake Derwentwater and Lake Coniston Water. I have been training hard in preparation and wish to thank Tom Rothwell at WAKTU, who I met whilst on an Academy Managers course run by the Premier League. Tom has been a mentor and has kindly helped set up this challenge. A huge thanks also go to the Essex Outdoor Pursuit Centre in Harlow Mill  who has helped prepare me for this huge challenge. Special thanks to Honie and Kane for their constant love and support in helping me achieve my goal. This is a very personal challenge and I hope it raises further awareness and much needed funds to help children and young adults like Addie, diagnosed with a brain tumour.
