Story
As some of you might know, over easter 2010, i will be hitchiking to Budapest, a good 1200 miles away, all in the name of charity. i will have no fixed transport, no accomodation, will be carrying my life in a rucksack, and will be racing around 100 other teams. If you’ve ever seen the movie ‘Rat Race’, it’s exactly like that, except all the money goes to charity.
The aim will be to get from Sheffield to Budapest, in one week, spending just £15 on transport. As part of the registration, each person doing it must raise at least £200 sponsorship, which will in turn go to charities here and abroad. Last year, £64,000 was raised for everything from cancer research, to helping disabled children. Being run by Sheffield University students and recent graduates, none of this money goes to pay any administration costs; all of it is given to charity.
I would massively appreciate if you could sponsor me to do this. It goes without saying, it’s entirely up to you, and no one else will know who has sponsored me and how much for. Even if it’s just a couple of quid, every little bit really does help. Every penny of sponsorship I receive goes directly to the charities.
thanks!
