We support victims of extreme trauma to help rebuild fulfilling lives

Story

Trauma Treatment International helps the survivors of torture, human trafficking, slavery and war by improving their access to treatment for psychological trauma. Through their network of specialists, they give best-practice training to the organisations who are already supporting trauma victims, enabling them to provide the most effective trauma treatments.  In this way, more victims get the right support they need to recover.

This is the first time I have sought sponsorship for a London Marathon since 2007. Trauma Treatment International is a small, young organisation, but with a global mission, and it really needs funding support to grow. I have worked with them for almost a year as a volunteer management consultant and have recently become a trustee.

We assist people affected by torture, trafficking and slavery. We provide specialist psychological services to victims of organised violence and support to the organisations that care for them. We work in partnership, anywhere in the world. Our organisation brings together the expertise gained by several decades of work with traumatised populations in a range of geographical and political situations in conflict environments and stable settings. We set up TTI because we believe that working both with victims and the organisations that care for them is the best way to help recovery, build capacity and develop resilience.
