From diagnosis at the beginning of April 2017 to the day he left us 31 July 2017 was just 4 months or 122 days. Shocking isn't the word for someone still in the prime of their life and being made of strong stuff. It didn't help that he caught three infections within that time period, and to be honest it could have been avoided. So fate decided that one thing would ultimately lead to another and leave everyone who knew Rob shocked and saddened at what happened to him.

Unfortunately, the reality is that the odds were stacked against him from the time he had his diagnosis, as he was advised that the disease had been growing silently inside him for up to two years beforehand with no obvious signs of its presence. This is the cruel nature of this particular strain of the disease, and it is reported that because of this the survival rate of patients is just 7%. That is the really shocking figure!!

For Rob, I am not sure if he knew of this, but what I did know is that he was a fighter and wanted to try to get better anyway he could. As a result he managed to beat all three of the infections he contracted as a result of his cancer treatment, but time just ran out for him and he passed away peacefully in his sleep.

He brought a lot of joy and happiness into the world, and will be sadly missed by his family and the copious number of friends he has made over such a short but fulfilling life. RIP Bro / Son from Will , Mum and all your mates.
