Story

I am delighted to have been accepted as part of the RFU Injured Players foundation team to run this year's London marathon running alongside my sister in law Suzannah Roach.

The foundation provides immediate and lifelong support to catastrophically injured rugby union players and helps to fund research and training to players and teams to help prevent such injuries.

In 2014 I ran the marathon for Racing Welfare and raised a staggering£5000, the training was hard to fit in to my busy work schedule, the race was extremely tough but I was pleased to finish in just over 4 hours and 30 minutes.  Knowing how I felt after and vowing that I would never do it again, here I am back in training and already shedding blood, sweat and a few tears! I am under no illusion how tough both the training and the big day are going to be but my enthusiasm for such a great cause is spurring me on.

As an avid rugby fan and with lots of good friends that are involved in the sport this fantastic cause is close to my heart.  So please dig deep and donate what you can to help me raise as much as possible for this great charity.

I thank you wholeheartedly in advance.  Robert
