Story

My cousin Frank died in March 2006. It is wonderful for Frank’s memory, for his family and for hundreds of young people in East London that the Frank Haines Memorial Trust is still going strong, over ten years later.

The Trust supports charities working with young people in East London and donates to them with specific goals in mind.

We support charities like Switchback, an intensive rehabilitation programme that helps young adult offenders make real, long lasting change after their release from prison.

Or like Make it!, an in-school project for 12-13 year olds combining intensive one-to-one mentoring with group work sessions and an experiential learning project.

Each of the 6 charities we support do incredible work for the young people of East London, and being small and predominantly volunteer led they greatly value our support.

I started the Where Eagles Dare Triathlon with my friend Tom O’Brien in 2013 so that we could continue to support these wonderful charities.

The triathlon involves a very chilly 1 mile swim in the sea, followed by a 50 mile bike ride across Anglesey topped off with a run up and down mount Snowdon.

Any donations are hugely appreciated.

About the charity
