Story

On 30th October 1942, K-King, a Liberator bomber of RAF Coastal Command, was returning from a patrol over the Bay of Biscay when it crashed at Plaster Down on Dartmoor. Six of the crew died and the seventh was seriously injured.

In 1983 the sole survivor, Dennis Pass, returned to Devon to place a memorial plaque to his fallen comrades - they were all in their twenties. Dennis died in hospital in 2015 - he was ninety two.

The families and friends of the crew of K-King have now arranged for a permanent memorial to be placed on Plaster Down close to where the Liberator crashed. There will be a service of dedication at the memorial on 8th April 2017.

To respect and remember the crew of K-King, you are invited to make a donation to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
