Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.   We are raising money for Help for Heroes as part of the Brabners Chaffe Street's "charity of the year" fundraising - registration number 20091120-7831-2116. This helps H4H to track the fundraising as part of our total raised.

The Challenge!

This year, the charity challenge sees the introduction of the Hardcore Route, which will run alongside the, ahem, ‘easier’ route. The Hardcore Route is designed to challenge the fittest of the fit (and the stupid) and adds an extra one third to both the bike ride and the walk. Some say it can’t be done in 12 hours…

The day will start from 7:30am at The Stickle Barn Tavern in Great Langdale. We’ll ease you into the challenge with a gentle 10 mile ride to Coniston Water, followed by a relaxing 3.5 miles canadian canoe on Coniston. Falling in is not an option! Once the canoeing is over with, and the feeling has returned to your lower parts, there will, depending on your disposition, be either a further 24 mile bike ride (through the Duddon Valley and over Wrynose Pass (1,289 ft)) or a further 12 mile bike ride (through Little Langdale).

Challengers can then finish with either a 7 mile ‘walk’ up Bowfell (2,960 ft) or a 4 mile walk up Harrison Stickle

(2,415 ft). We hope (!) to have everyone back by 8pm.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you for your support
