Thanks for taking the time to visit this JustGiving page in memory of my dear father who suffered so terribly from pancreatic cancer. I had never seen a seriously ill person before, and my mother and I are still coming to terms with the shock of Dad's rapid decline and the pain he tried so hard to suppress. In the end, nothing worked and it is a terribly distressing sight to see someone so proud and fastidious in that situation.

Without Sidmouth Hospiscare, we could not have coped and he would have had to end his days away from his family and lovely new home.They were so helpful, considerate and reassuring - and most of all - available 24 hours a day at a moment's notice. We don't know what we would have done without them.

He fought to the end, and I am utterly convinced it is no coincidence that he passed away the day after I danced as part of a booked side and the day before I had a critical job interview.

Terrifically organised, he had ensured Mum was settled in their new home and that all the important fittings were complete, new bathroom planned and finances arranged. He was a quiet man and a deep thinker - his words were worth waiting for. We cannot believe the number of cards and messages he has received - thank you all.
