From Tara: Most of you will already know that when I was 14 I lost my mum, Sue. Not all of you had the chance to meet her, but needless to say she was a very special lady who touched many lives. She was a midwife, her favourite colour was green, and she made the best potato skins in the world!

It's diffcult to come to terms with losing a parent no matter what age you are. I was lucky enough to have an amazing family, especially my wonderful dad, to look after me - and I was also lucky enough to get support from Winston's Wish.

Winston's Wish was set up to simply meet the needs of bereaved children, young people and their families. Since they began in 1992, they have helped thousands of children. The help they give varies depending on what you need; it can be anything from calling their helpline to talk to someone to being taught coping tools, or even going away on camp with other young people in the same situation.

What they do works, and they are slowly getting bigger and better. Every donation they get goes towards expanding their services even more.
