Story
We have been involved in the Dyspraxia Foundation for many years and they are some of the genuinely appreciative people we've ever met, so every penny will be appreciated. Due to our own personal experiences of dyspraxia/mental health challenges, Matt decided to give back and become a trustee for the charity.
You can also donate by texting DFRM60 £3 to 70070 to donate £3 (or any amount you kindly choose)
As someone who is dyspraxic myself and also has challenges with anxiety/mental health difficulties. The Dyspraxia Foundation were my parents first port of call when I was diagnosed and thanks to their help they didn't feel alone. My family are very grateful for everything they have done and me and Matt want to give something back and help others who have been in a similar position to us. They have also supported us both as a couple through difficult times, and have helped us meet others who have lived through similar experiences and understand our day to day struggles. It's time dyspraxia got the same understanding and awareness out there that other hidden difficulties and disabilities get. Yet many people still don't know what it is.
Dyspraxia/DCD is a hidden difficulty which means to the outside world you can’t tell someone has it. Dyspraxic people find the day to day tasks more challenging that others take for granted. These misunderstandings can make people feel socially isolated experience bullying and ignorance and difficulties with self-esteem, confidence and mental health. A lot of dyspraxics also have mental health difficulties such as anxiety and depression which is something which is very close to our hearts too. As someone who has faced some really difficult and challenging life experiences, I want to raise awareness and understanding of dyspraxia and mental health so that people don't have to go what I have alone.
