Story
As the way we live our lives is changing in an unprecedented way, so the difficult decision has been made in the way Mountbatten’s flagship fundraising event has been changed this year to ‘Walk the Wight your way’ – a virtual version of the event.
The walk itself on Sunday 10 May is not taking place but, from now until the end of May, I will be getting involved by taking part in its virtual walk.
As the challenge of completing the 26.5 miles in one go has gone, I shall be clocking up as many miles as i can instead. It's disappointing that I will not be able to try and beat my last years time of 7hrs 45mins but I am determined to celebrate the 30th WTW and raise as much as I can in this difficult time.
Obviously times are hard for many at the moment but if you are able to spare anything at this time it will be very gratefully received by Mountbatten.
I'm walking the Wight for Mountbatten because I believe everyone deserves the very best end of life care and bereavement support.Mountbatten is there for people when they need it the most - whether at home, at the hospice, or at St Mary's hospital. Without our support, they wouldn't be able to provide these vital services for free to the growing number of people across the Isle of Wight who need them.We will all be affected by death, dying and bereavement, without Mountbatten we would face it alone. Please donate as much as you can. Thank you.
