Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
on 5th July dad passed away in the comfort of his own home, this was down to the fact St Lukes provided him with the most incredible care and compassion meaning he didn't have to go in to hospital.
Mark came up with idea of doing something in memory of dad and what better way to celebrate the true gentleman he was by trying to arrange something that dad would have absolutely loved to attend, hence the Roy Berry Memorial Cup idea was born.
Dad loved his sport and in particular his football and cricket. As Mark and I are both poor cricketers and not bad football players we decided a charity football match was the way forward.
Dad played football in and around Plymouth up until his mid 40s. he was probably more well known for his managing ability and in particular managing Sealand in the DJM for many years.
A team of Plymouth Parkway Legends will pit their wits against a Roy Berry Select XI, a team made up of players that played for and were very close to dad during his time watching me and Mark. The match will take place at Bolitho Park, Manadon, home of Plymouth Parkway FC on 22nd September at 1430 ko. This will be followed by Chelsea v Liverpool in the Full Time Clubhouse at 1630.
Please come along if you can, if you can't make it you are more than welcome to make a donation here however big. St Lukes are an amazing charity and don't get the recognition they deserve.
Hope to see you on the sidelines
Many Thanks
Stuart & Mark
