Frank James Masterson. The light of our world. He is just 7 months old but has been through more than my partner and I put together.
When Frankie was born on 18/07/2017 at 00:17, he wasn’t breathing. He had to be resuscitated for 7 minutes. As he was premature, he suffered from a Pneumothorax (collapsed lung) and had to have an emergency treatment followed by stay in intensive care for 5 days.
Frankie wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for the incredible treatment he received from University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which is supported by an amazing charity called Bliss.
I understand this post isn’t quite ‘normal’ and may be a bit shocking but I believe it’s absolutely crucial to highlight the real life-changing support Bliss provide to the 60,000 premature babies born in the UK every year. Bliss is a charity now very close to my heart and I feel obligated to do my bit to ensure this charity can support premature and sick babies for generations to come.
I’m running The Great North Run as my first event on September 9th and would appreciate any donations. My target is £685.00 and would love to gain your support. Thank you.
