Hi, we are a group of doctors and nurses from the Royal United Hospital Paediatrics team based in Bath! This August we are tackling our greatest fears (exercise! mud!) in the form of Tough Mudder 5k to raise money for the Youth Adventure Trust, an amazing local charity that supports vulnerable young people aged 11-16 using outdoor adventure! Their specially designed programme, which spans 3 school years, is a life changing opportunity and gives them the chance to build resilience, develop confidence and learn skills that will last a lifetime.Each three year place costs £3,900, an average £1,300 a year, so we'd really appreciate all donations! I've been volunteering with Youth Adventure Trust for the last 2 years on both the mentoring and the residential programme. It's incredible the progress the young people make in such a short period of time. Having the opportunity to challenge themselves through outdoor activities and build connections helps them to build resilience and give them the tools to overcome problems at home. Volunteering has genuinely been one of the best decisions I've made.
