Story

Hi,
As you have probably guessed my name Is McKenzie Madison.

A few of you may know I sadly lost my Nephew Oliver Nuttall in October 2015. He put a strong fight but unfortunately lost it when he was less than 2 months old. He was born with half a heart.

At this tragic time it put my life into perspective for me, it taught me “No matter how small a person or how short a life; you have a profound ability to touch the hearts of others and have an impact upon them!  So I chose to run. Run for others and giving what I can along the way.”

I have booked some epic challenges across the Globe,

I have successfully completed the Hong-Kong Marathon on February the 12th

During the course of the rest of the year, I will undertake a number of other daunting challenges. Next up the Jerusalem Marathon in Israel on March the 17th

Then returning the UK to participate in the Manchester Marathon April 2nd before taking on the 50km Brecon Beacons Ultra in Wales on May 14th.

Just for good measure I took part in the Yorkshire 3
peaks challenge on 06/05/17

This will be followed by the Inca Trail Marathon at Machu Picchu in Peru June the 10th  name the world’s toughest marathon distance. With over 10,000ft  of elevation gain, two high passes (13,000ft' & 13,800ft'), and thousands of Inca steps the Andes Adventures Inca Trail Marathon is the most difficult fully supported, regularly scheduled marathon in the world.

Then onto Scotland for the Loch Ness Marathon September 24th , lets hope Nessy makes an appearance !

After Loch Ness my final challenge will be a trip Everest in  Nepal,    From Wednesday the 8th of November to the 3rd of December I shall be acclimatising over the 4 week trek to base camp.    Then to compete as one of 75 runners in the world’s highest marathon on the mountain itself.

Now I am exhausted, scared and exited about the prospect of the challenges above. I will test myself in ways I never new where possible. I will be battling past injuries and altitude sickness. If you feel it is worthy of a donation please support and share, share, share. Every little helps. Follow me on  Twitter @run_macca. Or View my Blog (under construction )  and follow my Journey.     www.mckenziemadison.com

I will put my body through a grueling challenge and a great amount of pain along the way. This is however nothing compared to what some people face in day to day life. This is why I have chosen Claire's House children's Hospice. To help them carry on doing the amazing work providing a lifeline to children in need.
