Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please continue to dig deep and sponsor us online.
For all of us, the 'festive season' will have been dominated by the unfolding tragedy in the Indian Ocean.
The clean up operation in the aftermath of the Tsunami will last for a long time. We are a group who have got together through the Runners World Forum to raise money to support the long term relief effort.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
Our motto is 'We're in it for the long run'. Now the intial crisis is over your sponsorship money will be used in the longer term work needed, like rebuilding schools and homes. Giving those affected by the Tsunami a chance to rebuild their lives
We are one of over 1200 individuals and companies that have registered fundraising activities for the DEC Tsunami Earthquake Appeal. The intrepid are climbing mountains and running marathons; those with self control are
having sponsored slims or silences; the fun loving are holding club nightsall over the country; the sophisticated are having black tie balls; and people everywhere are holding collections.
DEC has been overwhelmed by all the generosity and creativity in raising funds for this appeal. By the time all the events they know about have been held a £300 million fund will have been created that will make a lasting difference to the survivors over years to come.
DEC are now closing their fundraising appeal. However the appeal account will remain open to receive funds from activities that are already planned to take place over the next few months. The income from these will go to the
longer term work in the affected region.
DEC have told us that they do need the money we raise to support our relief and rehabilitation programme. It is already factored into the estimated total on which our members are basing their plans.
