Those of you close to me will know that a very dear friend of mine has had a challenging year. Having lived with MS for nearly 30 years she contracted PML and subsequently IRIS virus. Both side effects from a current MS treatment that is essential for a sustained quality of life for many MS sufferers. Fatality rates for PML and IRIS are very high. Those that survive are brain damaged. My dear friend has survived, but today she has lost much of her sight, her movement, her memory and her quality of life. Today she needs constant care. 

Whilst rare, these drugs are becoming more essential for many MS sufferers and those conditions are set to be more common in the future. We need better medication or better still , a cure. Together, we could finally beat Multiple Sclerosis.
