Saving babies from their first breath - advancing neonatal intensive care in Vietnam to help close the gap between developing and developed world standards of newborn care. Our work addresses the critical shortage of nurses, trained health workers and basic specialist lifesaving equipment.

Story

Every year nearly 3million babies around the world do not survive and over a million die on their first day of life? 99.9% of these deaths are in poor countries. In Vietnam neonatal mortality accounts for 50% of under five deaths.

Worldwide there is a critical shortage of trained health workers and nurses. More newborns would survive if appropriately trained nurses cared them for.  Surely someone should do something. All over the world organisations and individuals are doing amazing things. I am getting on my bike to bring British nursing expertise to Vietnam to help change the life chances of thousands of newborns.

Everyone has a role to play in ensuring that every child lives to celebrate his or her first birthday.  My cycle ride is raising funds for neonatal nurse training and lifesaving equipment. Support my ride; help me play a vital role in changing the life chances of newborns in Vietnam.
