Story
I'm boxing in an Ultra White Collar Boxing Event at Crewe Hall on 15th April 2017 to raise money for Cancer Research UK, in particular supporting the incredible work they do for people with Leukaemia.
In 2010, I was diagnosed with a rare germ cell tumour that I am very fortunate to have survived. Whilst the medical skill, care and support alone was incredible, the reality is that I would quite simply not be here today had it not been for some amazing medical treatment - medication resulting from decades of research and development.
This is my way of saying thank you to Cancer Research UK and our amazing NHS… BUT… it is not my main reason for doing this...
In 2015, one of my little boy’s closest friends Lewis was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Leukaemia. Lewis has undergone many intense courses of chemotherapy and after an early relapse, a stem cell transplant was performed in February 2017.
Despite all that Lewis has gone through and is still going through, Lewis always has the most wonderful smile on his face and brings overwhelming joy to everyone around him. Lewis’ determination and his incredible courage and that of all his family to beat this disease is why I am taking part in the Ultra White Collar Boxing Event and asking you to help support me and the amazing work that Cancer Research UK do for people like Lewis and his family. Those wishing to support this wonderful and brave little boy can follow Lewis' journey at https://www.facebook.com/followteamlewis/
I thank you all so much for supporting me and this wonderful cause with anything you can spare and donate.
