Story

Ironman Wales is done; in the bag. Off the bucket list! What a great day with amazing support on the day and beforehand.

Thanks to great support we've raised a lot for Macmillan and hope with continued support we can still raise even more.

Ironman Wales was as challenging and rewarding as I'd hoped. Whilst these days lots of people are doing great things for charity, Ironman is still a big challenge: 2.4 mile swim; 112 mile bike; and a full marathon. Turns out - and I only found this out after I entered - Ironman Wales is one of the worlds toughest, and arguably the hardest cycle course in the world. The marathon isn't flat and the swim course was pretty choppy with a 3 foot swell. I completed the course in 12 hours 23 minutes; 1:17 for the swim; 6:36 for the bike and 4:06 for the run.

After losing Jane's mum to cancer in 2013 we are raising money for both Macmillan, via this justgiving page, and the Paul Sartori foundation with offline donations (cash/cheques) as both provided essential support to our family. Further information on the Paul Sartori foundation is here and will be well known to friends and family in Pembrokeshire.

Please donate whatever you can to these great causes.

Many thanks,

Russ.
