Story
14th November 2025 - Day 14.
Day 14, Storm Claudia due to hit us today, but i`m two days ahead of my daily target anyway, so all is not lost if it turns into a swamp today.
Thank you all so much for your generosity.
If anyone out there is reading this for the first time, and can spare something towards Prostate Cancer Research, that would be fantastic.
Thank you all again.

10th November, and it`s day 10.
Just seen tonight that an anonymous donor`s contribution has now meant a sum of £400 has now been raised in support of my walking challenge.
Thank you so much everybody.
I`m very conscious that these are financially tough days for many people, so your generosity has not been taken for granted.
Thank you again.
So the 1/3rd mark in the month has been reached, and so far so good. Because of commitments tomorrow, I doubled-up on my walking targets today just in case time gets squeezed, but i`m making sure i`m above the target at all times.
Good luck to everyone else on this challenge for the rest of the month.
Thank you for your support.

7th November:
7 days in, and the typical "route march" for 2 miles completed when it was just becoming light, just to ensure it`s done every day.
Most days i`ve done much more walking than that, but with a number of other things I must do today, I made sure I remain "on target".
I have a waypoint exactly one mile from the house, so a there-and-back walk at a decent pace get`s the job done.

I don`t always set this, nor use a fitbit or similar, but took this screengrab after I stopped my walk this morning.
Thank you again to everyone who has helped raise so much money so far. I really appreciate.
Scroll further down to read about the background to me taking up this challenge.
Thank you.

UPDATE AFTER THE FIRST FEW DAYS:
I would just like to say thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far to this challenge. I am really so grateful for your generosity.
Today, the fourth day (4th Nov) it`s been awful weather here in Wales, and the coat, trousers etc from today`s walk have been "drying" in front of a dehumidifier , and dripping on to towels at the same time. But the challenge is a challenge, and so far so good.
Thank you again for getting me passed double the donation target already. It`s amazing.
If anyone else can donate for this worthy cause, it would be really appreciated.
Thank you.

A BACKGROUND TO THE CHALLENGE (and the Sprout picture!):
Hi everybody
Did you know that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime?
So far i`m one of the "7 in 8", but I’m taking on the `Walk 60 Miles in November` challenge for PCR to change this and help make a difference to men and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer.
Why am I doing it? Well I have friends that are living with prostate cancer, some that have come through it thanks to the wonders of both the NHS and support teams like PCR, and other people I knew who were less fortunate.
Why the "sprout walking" pic??!!! Well i`m too shy for a personal image being posted, and it was my early nickname from bRUSSELL sprout (a dodgy spelling purely for the play on my name).
So please support me if you can during this challenge by donating whatever you can to Prostate Cancer Research. Every donation you make, big or small, helps advance their mission to create a world free from the impact of prostate cancer.
Thank you for your support!
Russ.
