Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am trying to raise as much money as i can for the Marie Curie Woolton Hospice.
My insipration to do this trek came unfortunately last year, when my dear friend lost his brother in law Liam Chew to bowel cancer at such a young age of 24.
Liam was cared for in Palliative care.
This type of care focuses on helping people maintain the best possible quality of life. Palliative care includes a variety of treatments to help people with any physical problems as well as there social and psychological needs. Support also extends to there family and friends who may be concerned. People might receive palliative care at the same time as other treatments, such as chemotherapy or radiotherapy.
We have all been affected by cancer in our lives in some way or another, and the constant care an time that people give to others is amazing,So i feel its about time i did my part an show how much i appriciate what they do. And in loving memory of the members of family and friends i have lost over the last few years.
Part of my challenge involves me training hard to get fit for a trek through the Bocaina National Park Brazil. The trek will take place 13-22 September 2012 with 5 days of trekking 6-8 hours a day. Aswell as training and trekking another part of this challenge is to fundraise and get sponsorship. I would be extremely grateful if anyone would be kind enough to donate as little or as much as you can for this very worthwhile cause.
