Russ takes on the London Marathon 2022

London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
Most people are aware of Great Ormond Street Hospital. In London, it is one of the worlds leading Childrens hospitals taking care of more than 200,000 children every year.
Any parents worst nightmare is for your child to be ill or need hospitalisation and that has only become more apparent since having my own two terrors.
I will be running the London Marathon this October to raise money for GOSH. This is no mean feat, it has been a (Very!) long time since I have engaged in any sort of fitness and at this point I am defiantly thinking "what the hell have I done". I have started running and so far I have kept up with the recommended training course so I am hopeful I will survive.
Motivating me is the fact that Great Ormond Street Hospital is close to the heart of not only my family but Lins family too. My sister in law - Nicky's son Stephen was taken to Great Ormond Street after falling extremely ill, unfortunately passing away there at 9 months old. Just two weeks later my auntie gave birth there to a beautiful son Vincent who also unfortunately passed away at only a few days old. It is in their honour that I will push myself to finish the marathon and raise as much money as possible for the hospital in supporting children and families in times of crisis.
I appreciate you finding your way to my page and would be so grateful for any donations that you could make!
