FareShare redistributes good-to-eat, surplus food, which would otherwise go to waste, to 8,000 local charities and community groups across the UK. But our charities are facing unprecedented demand for food. Join our fight against hunger and food waste. Support FareShare today.

Story

Update: Thanks for all the support - I am increasing the target to 300 miles and the fundraising target!

Hi All,

I have been inspired by the tremendous movement over the last couple of weeks to tackle food poverty in the UK and I would like to do my part for the cause. Back in August, like many others, I bought a roadbike and started cycling. In November, I will be logging at least 200 miles on it (approxmiately the distance between London and Wrexham) to fundraise for FareShare; FareShare is a charity that fights hunger in the UK by redistributing food which would otherwise go to waste to almost 11,000 frontline charities nationwide.

Regardless of politics, the fundamental fact is that many people, especially children, are sleeping hungry. Let's stop stigmatising and let's all help those who need it this winter and be good to one another!

As little as £10 would provide 40 meals for children!

I'll be posting updates on this page and you can also track my progress on Strava which you can find on this page.

Stay safe,

Ryan
