Jade, Neil, Nicola, Mirabela and Tom are jumping to conquer stroke!
On 8 July 2018 Jade, Neil, Nicola, Mirabela and Tom are throwing themselves out of a plane at 13,000 feet because we want to make a difference to the lives of people affected by stroke. We’ve been busy baking, cooking, washing cars, holding raffles and sweepstakes to raise money for the Stroke Association and there’s still more to come!
Many of us have seen the often devastating effects of stroke in our friends or family. Stroke can strike anyone at any time, not just older people – a quarter of strokes in the UK occur in people under 65 and children also have strokes.
In the UK, stroke kills twice as many women as breast cancer and twice as many men as prostate and testicular cancer combined.
Stroke is also the single biggest cause of complex disability; nearly two-thirds of stroke survivors leave hospital with a disability and need support. At present, there are over 1.2 million stroke survivors in the UK.
Any contribution you make will go towards the work the Stroke Association is carrying out to help people and their families who have been affected by stroke. Your support will help us to work towards a world where there are fewer strokes and all those affected by stroke get the help and support they need.
