We fund services for local asylum seekers to relieve poverty and distress

Story

We are a charity who has been supporting refugees in Southwark for 20 years now. We are doing this every week by providing necessary support in our three Day Centres. One of these supports is hot lunch, which is especially important for our clients who have no income and are homeless. We are running to collect money to secure three proper meals a week for people. Another important service is giving advice to clients. That could mean anything from explaining people basic things about the immigration process they are going through, to get people off the street. So we are also running for the IT equipment we need for the advice every week. We have many other support services and activities, we provide,
but the therapy and the ESOL class is worth to mentioning, because of the impact it has on our users. Because of the background many refugees have, therapy is a necessary service and ESOL class is an essential service for many clients to get better integrated into British culture. All these services are very important for centre users and so important for us to sustain. To keep our Day Centre running we depend heavily on private donations. So every donation saves our Day Centre to keep providing the support refugees in Southwark need.
