In 2013 I fell into a wall playing indoor football. I fractured my skull, had a bleed on he brain and spent 6 days in a coma. I then had part of my skull removed and replaced with a titanium plate. During this my parents were told I may lose the use of my left side and may wake up with a personality change. They were then told to be prepared for the worst.
James Cook Intensive Care and Nuero ward not only prevented this from happening but support my rehabilitation to allow me to make a recovery beyond all expectations. For this I’m forever thankful.
