Story
Swiss Valley Rangers Football Club have decided to set each of their teams an immense challenge that will get them out into the fresh air and get some well needed exercise to keep them fit, healthy and sane - making sure they are covid safe of course.
The challenge is that each team that takes part will collectively attempt to rack up enough km's through walking, running or biking, to visit each of the UEFA Euro 20/21 Host Cities in sequence. We're encouraging family members to join in to ensure we complete our challenge - we have between now and June 11th, which is when the tournament is due to start (covid allowing of course). Each player/family will send in their km's each time they get out and we will total them up and map their progress on a team basis.
The football club is based at Clevedon School so this will be our starting point and from here the route will be:
- Clevedon School
- Dublin - Aviva Stadium
- Glasgow - Hampden Park
- London - Wembley Stadium
- Amsterdam - Johan Cruyff Arena
- Copenhagen - Parken Stadium
- Saint Petersburg - Krestovsky Stadium
- Baku - Olympic Stadium (U14 Boys are here)
- Bucharest - Arena Nationala
- Budapest - Puskas Arena
- Munich - Allianz Arena
- Rome - Stadio Olimpico (U10 Boys are here)
- Bilbao - San Mames
- Clevedon School (U12 Boys and U14 Girls have finished!)
We've worked that out to be 11,937 km's as the crow flies.
If you would like to encourage the children then what better way than to donate a small amount of money to our chosen charity - Children's Hospice South West - an incredible local charity providing hospice care for children with life-limiting conditions and their whole family. With their ability to raise money being so limited due to the situation in which the country finds itself, events like this are so important to help ensure they can continue to function.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Wish us luck and please leave messages of encouragement to keep us going :)
