Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As you will be aware, the Jefferson Ward at Colchester hospital was recently subject to an unforgiveable burglary. The communal room which gave some escape and release to the Cancer Ward's patients was stripped of it's television and DVD player. This story was reported by the EADT on Thursday, November 22nd :

This ward and the compassionate and professional teams who give comfort and treatment to the terminally ill is close to my heart. My twitter campaign was inspired by my Nan, Jean who spent time with Jefferson this year and is fondly remembered every day.
The response on Twitter has been phenomenal, incredibly warm and humbling - I'd like to thank all for their kind offers of help.
We'd like to promote this page and be able to make a gesture off the back of this travesty to turn something negative into something very positive. The hospital tell us they have been contacted by other good samaritans for this very same cause, so we are not alone.
All donations will go to Jefferson Ward and the Hospitals cancer patients. If we can help with a gesture towards some new entertainment equipment, that is our first goal. (update: 27/11 an offer of a tv from east of england cooperative has been accepted)
Judging the warmth and deep sense of outrage on our social meda streams if this surpasses expectations, then Jefferson Ward and Colchester Hospitals other cancer patients and the teams that look after them can have a smile on their faces this Christmas with the money being spent on comfort, care and treatment.
Be it a pound or something more generous it will all go to making a difference. I'm truly humbled by your support and the power of Twitter.
We have been lucky enough to have lots of media support and @ 910am 30/11/12 an interview with myself will be brodcast on Essex FM, so tune in! Please have a look at all the media reports below;
