Story
The charity is registered as Devon Partnership NHS Trust Special Charity and gives hope and support to those with mental health and learning disability needs across Devon and nationally. Our charity raises funds to make a difference to the people we care for and provides a platform which encourages recovery, well-being and draws closer links to the community.
In both my personal and work life I have always strived to make a difference to those around me, no matter how big or small. For this reason, I would like to make a difference for the staff at Franklyn Hospital, where I have worked for the past 15 years as an administrator.
Franklyn Hospital provides assessment and treatment for older people with mental health needs, such as depression, anxiety, psychosis and dementia.
I am walking 100km (officially 102km) in 24hrs - From Minehead to Dawlish - to raise money to enhance the ward environment and enable staff to take time for their own mental health and wellbeing.
Please help me thank all NHS staff for their continued compassion, kindness and dedication to each and every one of their patients, often going beyond the call of duty.
Thank you
