Story

The Story

I can now confirm I have a place on the London marathon 2022 running for the charity “scope”, to truly push myself not only am I going to run in the London marathon, but I will be aiming to complete 5 marathons in exactly 365 days, London being the final marathon.

During lockdown I set myself a target to complete a marathon. I signed up for Chester marathon albeit without actually owning a pair of running trainers however with the help and support from friends, family and my local running club I trained for 15 months, lost over 3 stone and ran my first marathon in October 2021. 3 weeks later I ran my home marathon Liverpool, completing this 2 minutes quicker than my first.

I will be completing 5 marathons in 365 days with London 2022 (02/10/2022) being exactly 1 year since my first marathon at Chester (03/10/2021).

I will be doing this all with the aim to raise as much money as possible for the charity Scope. As an added extra I will be aiming to complete each marathon quicker than the last ensuring I remain focused and keep my fitness up over the duration of the challenge.

Thank you for taking time out to visit my page. Below you can find out more about the challenge, the charity Scope and updates on my progress so far.

***No matter how big or small every donation will help this wonderful charity so thank you***

The Charity

Scope are a strong community of people with a shared vision of equality for disabled people founded in 1952. Everything Scope currently do is with the aim to achieve its strategy, everyday equality. There are almost 14 million disabled people in the UK, that’s one in five of us. Life is harder when you’re disabled. You're twice as likely to be unemployed, getting care is a struggle and the cost of living is higher. Everyday equality is about fairness, justice and rights. By 2022 Scope aim to be the go-to organisation for disability.
