Story
After an IIH diagnosis, I underwent many blood tests, blood transfusions, iron infusions and investigations which ultimately resulted in a diagnosis of bowel cancer in October last year. A few weeks later I had my surgery - right hemicolectomy. What a rollercoaster! Thankfully it was caught early and no further treatment was needed.
I chose to keep this journey private; something I needed to deal with in my own way. However, this challenge is to mark the 1 year anniversary of the diagnosis, surgery and journey we've all taken 💚 (plus, who can't resist dogs wearing bandanas?! 🐾)
Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer with more than 16,500 people dying annually of a disease that is preventable, treatable and curable.
That's why I've signed up for "Walkies Together 2025 Bowel Cancer" challenge.
I'm walking 44 miles with my new adopted dog this October and raising money to help save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer. The money I raise will help to provide support and information to patients and their families, fund and support research into bowel cancer, support campaigns for early diagnosis and best treatment and care.
I kindly ask you to join me in this important cause by donating towards my target of £250. Together we can make a difference! Thank you x
