At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Curtis, Chris, and I are walking the West Highland Way (Scotland) from 19th August 2021 to 25th August 2021. We will be walking a total of 96 miles across 6 days. If we are still friends by the end of it, then it has been a success!

As you can imagine, this is a MASSIVE challenge for us, and will push us outside of our comfort zone. We want to test our endurance and abilities and see what we are made of. However, we also want to do something for a good cause and therefore felt it would be worthwhile raising some money for charity along the way.

We have chosen to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society. Dementia is not a natural part of ageing. It is caused by diseases of the brain and gradually gets worse over time. Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

Anything you can spare would be hugely appreciated. We aim to document our progress, including videos etc...
