Story
In February 2020, after discovering a small lump, I received the most terrifying news of my life when I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. I was only 28. A week later, I had major surgery.
This was successful but in 2021 the cancer returned and I underwent three cycles of chemotherapy, receiving the last dose on Christmas Eve.
My most recent scan results were much more positive and this year I want to salute the incredible treatment I've received from St Bart's Hospital in London and raise awareness of testicular cancer in young men by taking on the London Marathon in October.
I will be running for the Maggie's Centre, a charity attached to St Bart's and many other UK hospitals that provides free cancer support and information to patients and their loved ones. The spaces are designed with wellbeing in mind and provide accessible mental health services, group sessions with other patients, financial advice, or simply a cup of tea and an ear to listen.
The Maggie's Centre at St Bart's was a sanctuary for me and my family throughout my treatment and the staff are absolutely brilliant. I would hugely appreciate any donation, and/or a share of my page, to help the Centre continue to provide vital support and a welcoming space for people coming to terms with a cancer diagnosis or dealing with the effects of treatment.
Thank you.
