London Marathon 2019 · 28 April 2019 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have been running for a number of years on and off but always considered myself a lone runner. I took part in The Norwich Half 2019 and did not reach the goal I had set myself. I fell out with running and felt unmotivated.
I made a decision to do something to regain my love of running and joined Wymondham Athletic Club. This was a good decision, I have since taken part in a number of races from 5k through to half marathon ( even getting my sub 2hour half) and cross country. I have met some inspirational people along the way and made some great friends.
The marathon is my latest goal but I would like to have a meaningful end to go with it. I have decided to help raise money for the Urology Oncology fund. I am one of a team of Urology Oncology nurses caring for patients diagnosed with prostate, bladder, penile, kidney and testicular cancer. These patients require our time and support. Not only are they dealing with their diagnosis but many treatments come with side effects that impact on quality of life. Any small improvements we can make will help this group of patients.
