Welcome to my JustGiving page! My name is Suzanne and I am the Co-Owner of Samberwill Equestrian Online Store. Our business is based around our love for our racehorses and ponies and one of our business aims this year was to help support more Equestrian Charities. 

Why The Racehorse Sanctuary?

Over 4,000 horses leave the racing industry annually, but sadly, many of them face an uncertain future. The Racehorse Sanctuary provides a lifeline for such horses; as one of the leading organisations working in this field their work is vital to thoroughbred welfare, as they have re-homed hundreds of horses since being established.

Our own horses are part of our family and have a forever home with us, but many are not so lucky. I would love to raise money for The Racehorse Sanctuary, as they are completely self funded and receive no funding from the Government. Any money raised will help them to continue with the amazing work that they do.  

Why Treat Free February?

I am mum to two young boys and to be honest, I want to get healthier for them. During both of my pregnancies, I had Gestational Diabetes, so this puts me at a greater risk of Type 2 Diabetes in the future, if I don't tackle my weight now! Taking medication, measuring my blood sugar levels and injecting insulin during pregnancy was rather grim, so I really want to avoid this in the future.

My weight has crept up again over the past few months, and I don't feel comfortable riding at the moment, so I would love to lose weight so I can get back in the saddle again soon. 

I eat a fairly balanced diet, but have noticed recently that the sweet treats are becoming a more regular occurrence, so i am  saying goodbye to sugar during February 2019. This will include all sugary drinks (goodbye coke / hot chocolate / sugar in my tea) and any sweet treats such as biscuits, cake, desserts, cereals, sauces etc. 

In 2 days I have lost 2lbs so who knows where I will be by the 1 March!
