Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I am running the Birmingham Half Marathon on the 15th October 2017 for the Birmingham Queens Elizabeth Hospital charitable trust.

I chose Birmingham QE to say thank you for all the care they have given to my partner over the years and continue to do so.  After suffering numerous heart attacks and being told he had only months to live the Birmingham QE gave hope for the future by undertaking major open heart surgery by inserting an electronic heart pump.  After a few months of recovery Phill was unfortunately back to the QE with a brain bleed.  With the help of the QE Phill is now on the heart transplant list and recovering really well from the trauma of the last few years.  Without the care of the Heart Team at Birmingham QE Phill would not be looking forward to a future.

As Phill has never given up throughout his journey I have been inspired to dust off my running shoes and start pounding the pavements again, going from sofa to 13.1 miles (yes the .1 must be mentioned) in 9 months and hoping to get a personal best with a sub 2 hour half marathon.  Feel free to challenge me by doubling your sponsorship if I achieve this time or any other incentives will be greatly appreciated. All money raised will go to Heart/LVAD/Transplant Unit at the hospital.
