Sarah's 60 for 60

Sarah Brotherston is raising money for Brothers in Arms
In memory of Brian Brotherston
We use digital technology that men can use to enable them to self-manage and engage with their own mental health. We call it 'Prevention Through Self-Management' because waiting until a man reaches crisis before he gets help is like throwing a lifebuoy ring into the water when already drowning.

Story

My dad would have turned 60 years old on the 1st of February this year. Sadly my dad committed suicide when he was 43 years old. Throughout February, starting on the day of dad's 60th birthday, I aim to cover 60 miles on foot each week from a mixture of walking and running.

Brothers in Arms are a volunteer based charity that support men all over Scotland with their mental health through their smartphone application 'Brothers-thrive'. The app can be downloaded from BIA's website and offers counselling through instant messaging. This provides a very accessible line of support for men directly from their phone at times when it might be difficult to talk to family or friends.

I have set myself this challenge to raise awareness of BIA and the support available for men today. If you can spare any donation, however small, in support of BIA's amazing work I would be extremely grateful. Your donations can contribute to supporting men when they need it most and save lives.

Thank you for viewing my page and particularly during these hard times be there and be kind.
