Sarah and Colleagues at CLAHRC GM

Wear A Hat Day 2017 · 31 March 2017 ·
In the picture above I am wearing my special hat the morning after brain surgery in December 2016. Some friends and family were quite taken with it but it did have to be removed eventually!
Supporting Brain Tumour Research is important to me personally and my lovely colleagues at CLAHRC GM (http://clahrc-gm.nihr.ac.uk/) will be holding 'a most creative hat' competition as part of Wear A Hat Day 2017. There are rumours that I may be invited to judge!
Why is funding research into brain tumours important? In the words of Brain Tumour Research...
Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. This is unacceptable! Brain Tumour Research are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK. Please help us fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
