TCS London Marathon In Aid Of Macmillan Cancer Support

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
As some of you will know in 2018, shortly after Ethan was born Martin was diagnosed with cancer, it was supposed to be a happy time - one to enjoy our little family, instead it was a time of fear, uncertainty and financial instability.
Macmillan were our main contact in the cancer centre, a nurse was there at every one of Martins appointments, not just to provide practical support but emotional support too. We went from being passed from one specialist to another with little to no information to being kept up to date with what was going on, what would happen next and what we could expect
Thankfully, after surgery and chemo Martin made a full recovery.
Sadly our paths recently crossed with Macmillan Cancer Support again - once during Martins mum short battle with cancer and again when John a close family friend was suddenly diagnosed with terminal cancer.
John was a keen runner having completed the London Marathon twice himself - the last time only months before his diagnosis, heartbreakingly John passed away just before Christmas, Macmillan had supported his wish to die at home briefing his wife on what to expect and providing emotional support despite them living so remotely.
About Macmillan Cancer Support - Where Your Sponsorship Money Goes.
3 million people are living with cancer in the UK, which is expected to rise to 4 million by 2030.
Your sponsorship will help them continue to support people living with the everyday challenges of cancer through services like their support lines, online community and local support services.
Macmillan Cancer Support is dedicated to helping everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can.
They provide physical, financial, and emotional support to individuals and their families from the moment of diagnosis, through treatment, and beyond. Their services include:
* Confidential Support Line – Offering a listening ear and expert information to those affected by cancer.
* Financial Assistance – Helping people manage the financial impact of cancer, including advice on benefits and grants.
* Local Support Services – Providing access to community resources and support groups to ensure no one faces cancer alone.
This is why I’ve chosen to run for Macmillan—because of the vital work they do for everyone facing cancer.
By donating, you’re not only helping me fulfil my long-held dream of running the London Marathon but also contributing to an organisation that truly makes a difference in the fight against cancer.
Every donation counts, and your generosity will directly help more families get the support they need during their toughest moments and ensure that nobody has to face cancer alone.
Thank you so much for your support!
