Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Lizzie and myself, Sarah are running the Oxford Half Marathon in October - it'll be Lizzie's 6th Half, but it's my first Half Marathon!!!

We're raising money for #TeamMikaere.

Mikaere (Kai), who was born with Nonketotic Hyperglycinemia (NKH), a rare metabolic disorder with no cure and limited treatment options.

Having met Kai's Mum Elly at my Bootcamp, I was blown away by how positive she is, I wanted to use the opportunity of my very first Half Marathon to raise money for a worthy cause, and what better than choosing one that's very local and close to my heart. (Sarah)

The NKH Charity is called Joesph’s Goal and it is the UK's only NKH charity and it funds Professor Nick Greene from UCL.

Please help us reach our donation goal. The money raised will go towards research into NKH, which, in turn, can have a direct affect on the future of children like Mikaere.

More information about Mikaere at www.teammikaere.com and on instagram @teammikaere.  For more information about NKH visit www.foundationnkh.org
