Story
On a mission to take a cup of tea to the world, what's a few mountains and the worlds second highest highway to stop us?!
Whats this all about then?
In 2010 the Roof of the World rally aims to push back the very boundaries of tea vending! In 2008 and 2009 a multinational crew of adventurers crossed deserts and mountains delivering hot cups of tea and ginger biscuits across continents. This year we are aiming to take that pioneering trip one step further. The 2010 Rally aims to give a hot cuppa to warm the Siberians stomachs, a tasty brew of Earl Grey to embassy staff and an iced tea to desert nomads. We depart in Summer 2010 from London, England headed in the general direction of Kurgan-Tyube, Tajikistan, in deepest, darkest Central Asia. In between lie the hottest deserts, the highest mountains and everything in-between. So we're going to buy a vehicle, buckle up, hit the road and experience mankind’s greatest drink with some of the world’s most amazing people. The Charity This grand adventure is of course being undertaken for an awesome cause. SWORDE-Teppa. Based at our finishing point in Tajikistan. The English and Education Centre performs amazing work and runs brilliant projects, including teaching kids a variety of subjects and giving them a real headstart in life. The centre benefits greatly from any funds raised for them and any vehicles donated. Every year we are more blown away by the great work being done in very hard conditions, and no matter how small the donation or how knackered the car every little goes a long way.
Thanks for your support,
