Story

Huge thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. Here's just a little introduction as to how I found myself here.

Like so many, I have found the last year incredibly tough, and shielding has left me with no real purpose, feelings of isolation and with a steady decline in both my physical and mental health. I was barely leaving the house, put on lots of weight and the symptoms of my Complex Regional Pain Syndrome became untolerable.

I started going for short 'walks' (in my wheelchair) with my partner Steven on Sunday mornings and more recently I've been going out alone building up my strength and stamina. It was lifting my mood and gave me a reason to get up each day.

Scrolling through Twitter at the weekend, I noticed a tweet from a fellow CRPS sufferer and paralympian Rachel Morris about signing up to do a challenge this month. It inspired me to set myself a challenge and I felt encouraged that Rachel would be able to support and motivate me to achieve it.

So here I am with my challenge to wheel the equivalent of a marathon by the end of the month. Your support so far has been truly overwhelming and I am starting to believe in myself that this goal is going to be achievable.

If you are able to further support me, I am also fundraising for the wonderful LimbPower charity. The work they do supporting, rehabilitating and providing opportunities for amputees and those affected by limb dysfunction is incredible.  The focus is always on finding what someone CAN do as opposed to looking at disability as a barrier.

Thank you so much.
